Caking of granulated Fertilizers while storing in bags or bulk poses serious problem to consumers and producers alike. The cakes formed are sometimes so hard that it becomes difficult to break these by ordinary means. The caking problem is generally attributed by the process of dissolution and crystallization of soluble salts due to fluctuation in temperature, humidity etc., and stress developed on granules while storing the fertilizers.

 

 

Process Overview:
It is especially developed for NPK/NPS Fertilizers. These coating agents are surfactants-based formulations which repel moisture to come in contact with the fertilizer granule structure. This makes the fertilizer free flowing and free from any attrition to small particles or powder. The film formed on the granulated fertilizer is so thin that it does not impair the basic character of the fertilizer granules.

The oily nature of the JBF-CO-NPK has also advantage to its credit, in comparison to other powder coating agents. The quantities of powder coating agents are needed is generally much higher (1% to 5%) in comparison to JBF-CO-NPK coating agents which is 0.1% to 0.25% only.

Mode of Application:

JBF-CO-NPK is atomized at a temperature of 70 Deg. Celsius to 80 Deg. Celsius at a suitable pressure on cascading fertilizer granules or prills in a coating drum or directly on conveyor. A concentration of 0.1% to 0.25% (w/w) of JBF-CO-NPK 0 is sufficient to give a full protective effect to granulated NPK/NPS fertilizers.

 

Advantages:
1. Very low concentration 0.1% to 0.25% (w/w) or 1.0 to 2.5 kg per ton of fertilizer is sufficient to give a full protective effect on fertilizer granules/prills and keeps it free flowing.
2.  The coated products remains free flowing for longer duration in tropical  climates.
3. The additives in the coating material helps in uniform distribution of the material on granules/prill’s surface.
4. No material handling problem, as percentage of JBF-CO-NPK requirement is very low.
5.  The coated product is not accumulated in the conveying equipment due to waxy films formed from JBF-CO-NPK in coating drums, chutes and bunkers etc.
6. Minimum down time is required for cleaning equipments, as the process is free from dust.
7. Due to very minute quantity of JBF-CO-NPK requirement per ton of fertilizer granules, the fertilizer analysis is not changed.
8. No dust pollution problem due to fertilizer’s dust as JBF-CO-NPK also works as a good de- dusting material in fertilizer granulation plants.
9. JBF-CO-NPK  gives extra strength to the granules/prills against shocks, abrasion and stress.

Description & Use:
JBF-CA is a very effective colouring agent. It is ideally suited for use in NPK & DAP (Di Ammonium Phosphate) type mixed fertilizers. It gives uniform colouration to the product, thereby improving its marketability.

 

Application:
JBF-CA is injected into the product slurry/melt for body colouring. It can also be injected into the granulator or sprayed on the finalized product. The quantity to be dosed will depend upon the darkness of shade desired.

 

Dosing:
Normally 1 Kg for 1 MT of Fertilizers is used for grey colour, 2-3 Kg for 1 MT of Fertilizers for Brown colour & 4-5 Kg for 1 MT of Fertilizers for dark Brown colour.
Dosage may change from plant to plant & process to process.

JBF-507 is an effective anticaking agent for powder products. It can be directly sprayed on the hygroscopic material to prevent caking. (Brown - Colouring Agent for NPK/DAP Fertilizers)

 

Description & Use:
JBF-CA is a very effective colouring agent. It is ideally suited for use in NPK & DAP (Di Ammonium Phosphate) type mixed fertilizers. It gives uniform colouration to the product, thereby improving its marketability. 

 

Application:
JBF-CA is injected into the product slurry/melt for body colouring. It can also be injected into the granulator or sprayed on the finalized product. The quantity to be dosed will depend upon the darkness of shade desired. 

 

Dosing:
Normally 1 Kg for 1 MT of Fertilizers is used for grey colour, 2-3 Kg for 1 MT of Fertilizers for Brown colour & 4-5 Kg for 1 MT of Fertilizers for dark Brown colour.
Dosage may change from plant to plant & process to process.
