BACILLUS SUBTILIS

Bacillus subtilis is a biological fungicide. They are effective against crop diseases caused by fungus belonging to deuteromycetes, oomycetes, ascomycetes and bacterial plant pathogens. It attacks disease causing pathogens before they reach the plant system, acquires maximum space, absorbs maximum nutrients available at the target site and thereby controls the pathogens by starving them for food and competing for space also known as Domino effect. Bacillus spores multiply inside it and eventually kill the pathogen. They secrete certain antagonistic secondary metabolites which have an anti fungal effect that pathogenise and kill the disease causing organism.

It additionally instigates plant's regular orderly antibodies against bacterial and contagious pathogen known as (SAR) Systematic Acquired Resistance. Since Bacillus subtilis form spores, therefore, treated seeds can be stored for prolonged period as bacteria stay alive and multiply after the seeds are planted.

GROWTH PROMOTION ACTIVITY:-

Bacillus subtilis produce growth promoting substances thereby increase sprouting rate of seed and growth of seedlings and plant.

TARGET CROPS:-

Cotton, Pea, Beans, Millets, Pulses, Oilseeds, Tomato, Onion, Garlic, Basil, Cucurbits, Mango, Ber, Grapes, Citrus, Ginger, Cereal, Corn, Pomegranate, Apple, Peach, Plum etc…

Ampelomyces Quisqualis is a naturally occurring hyperparasite of powdery mildews. This parasitic fungus develop on the mycelium of host fungal pathogen along with secretion of certain toxic substances which effects growth of powdery mildew.

The fungus Ampelomyces Quisqualis is a naturally occurring hyperparasite of powdery mildews. It infects and forms pycnidia (fruiting bodies) within powdery mildew hyphae, conidiophores (specialized spore-producing hyphae), and cleistothecia (the closed fruiting bodies of powdery mildews). This parasitism reduces growth and may eventually kill the mildew colony.

MODE OF ACTION:

It controls pathogens through creating competition for substrate and nutrients. It colonizes maximum space and absorbs maximum nutrients available at the target site and thereby controls the pathogens by making them to starve for enough space and food.

Mycoparasitism: It is a preventive biological (living) fungicide that attacks disease-causing pathogens before they reach the root system. It grows fast and coils around the pathogen and penetrates through it. By taking nutrients from the pathogen it makes the pathogen to die finally.

Antibiosis: Offers long-lasting control of pathogen by secreting secondary metabolites which exhibit antibiosis effects on the pathogen.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus is a bacterium that originally was considered to be a subspecies of Lactobacillus casei, but genetic research found it to be a species of its own. It is a short Gram-positive heterofermentative facultative anaerobic non-spore-forming rod that often appears in chains. Some strains of Lactobacillus rhamnosus bacteria are being used as probiotics, and are particularly useful in treating female-related infections, most particularly very difficult to treat cases of bacterial vaginosis (or "BV"). The Lactobacillus rhamnosus and L. reuteri species are most commonly found in the healthy female genito-urinary tract and are most helpful to supplement in order to regain control over dysbiotic bacterial overgrowth during an active infection. L. rhamnosus sometimes is used in yogurt and dairy products such as fermented and unpasteurized milk and semi-hard cheese. While frequently considered a beneficial organism, Lactobacillus rhamnosus may not be as beneficial to certain subsets of the population; in rare circumstances, especially those primarily involving weakened immune system or infants, it may cause endocarditis.

It is non-pathogenic and safe for human consumption qualified as GRAS in US and also qualifies criteria of QPS as per EFSA. Bacillus Licheniformis spores are very tough and stable making it the probiotic of choice in the animal feed, food and aquaculture industry.

Bacillus Licheniformis as a probiotic has the potential to improve the immune response and growth performance in animals (Cattle/Poultry/Pigs etc) and fishes. Bacillus Licheniformis secretes different enzymes which convert complex substrates into easily available nutrients thereby increase the availability of easy to digest nutrients to animals. This also increase the feed conversion ratio.

Bacillus Licheniformis forms spores in soil. A pathway that leads to endospore formation is initiated when the bacterium is starved. Endospore formation is actually desired and serves as a great example of prokaryotic development and differentiation. These spores are quite tolerant of heat, cold, radiation, and other environmental stresses. Under good conditions, the spores will germinate and produce vegetative cells. (8)
